What kind of company is NCR Atleos?

https://ncratleos.com/insights/what-is-ncr-atleos

NCR Atleos was born in October 2023, when NCR spun off its ATM division—a division that was already the world’s largest provider of ATMs and ATM services—into a separate company. The new company would focus exclusively on self-service financial access. The spinoff was a milestone in NCR’s longtime drive to deliver and innovate self-service financial access.

When it was time to choose a name for the new company, we thought long and hard. What a responsibility to rename part of a 140-year-old company! Working with a global consulting group to survey thousands of stakeholders, we agreed we wanted our new name to convey key elements of our business: the NCR legacy, our global footprint and our ATM expertise.

Naming a new company in 2023 was not the easiest process, with so many companies already in existence and because we were a global operation. But we landed on a name we believe pulled it all together:

  • “NCR”, to represent our heritage as part of one of the world’s most respected financial services companies.
  • "At" a nod to the company’s past and present history with automated teller machines.
  • "Eos,” for the dawn of a new era.
  • “Atlas”, for a collection of maps, which represents our commitment to helping financial institutions and retailers around the world shift transactions to self-service.
NCR Atleos today

As a standalone company, we’re able to focus exclusively on self-service financial solutions. This singular focus sets the stage for continuous innovation in this one specific area, so we can bring greater value to financial institutions and retailers.

NCR was founded in 1884, before most people had telephones or cars. Now NCR Atleos is taking self-service financial access into a brand-new era.  Learn how in this Bankadelic podcast.

It also allows us to deliver unrivaled service on a global scale. 20,000 employees—supplying, troubleshooting and proactively maintaining ATMs across the globe. Indeed, we do it for ourselves every day in keeping our own network of ATMs—the largest in the world—on and available.

Through our digital-first technology, we work with thousands of financial institutions and retailers around the world to optimize branches by shifting transactions to self-service. They choose us because of:

Our Innovation Lab constantly pushes the boundaries of industry norms to find new ways to deliver more and better service.

Many financial institutions—physical and digital, large and small—use NCR Atleos to run their self-service networks end to end through ATM as a Service. Others use our network to expand their footprint with our Allpoint Network and through our industry-leading, feature-rich technologies that shift more transactions to self-service, so tellers can focus more on customer relationships and services like loans and mortgages, which bring in more revenue.
The results are branch optimization, improved operational efficiency and maximized availability—ultimately creating exceptional self-service banking experiences and convenient access for their consumers.

What’s more, our technologies are helping aid financial inclusion by making access to cash and other financial transactions available to people around the world through self-service.
