“Don’t be afraid to help others—it often leads to unexpected opportunities.”
Tell us about your first steps in the professional world.
I joined NCR Atleos in February 2020, just before the pandemic, as a solutions specialist. That role was a pivotal starting point—it gave me deep insight into the business and introduced me to an incredible team whose support and collaboration helped shape my growth.
Prior to that, I worked in a variety of retail and administrative roles, which helped me hone my customer service and operational skills that I apply every day in my role as a product manager.

Can you share more about your current role and what you like about it?
I am a regional product manager for Latin America. That means I work closely with teams across sales, engineering and marketing to help deploy our ATM products throughout the region and globally.
My day-to-day involves supporting sales strategy, piloting new products, helping craft customer stories and contributing to revenue planning. I also present to leadership and help new sales hires get up to speed, which I find rewarding—especially since I get to use my native Spanish every day. It is a bonus because it connects me more deeply with our customers and my colleagues.
What’s the most challenging part of your role?
The most difficult part of my job is adapting to the ever-changing ATM market. Things shift quickly, customer needs evolve and that means my workdays can be unpredictable. I must stay flexible, whether responding to new customer needs or recalibrating strategies internally. It keeps me on my toes, but it makes the job exciting.

What do you like most about working for NCR Atleos?
I love the global reach and footprint of our company. It’s amazing to see our products in restaurants, airports and stores all over the world. It reminds me of the impact we make.

I also really value the diversity of the teams I get to work with and the inclusive culture here. Our company celebrates special events like Pride Month, Black History Month and Hispanic Heritage Month, which makes people feel seen and supported both professionally and personally. That sense of belonging matters.
What advice would you give to someone interested in becoming a product manager?
Be open to working on a variety of projects and building strong relationships across teams. Don’t be afraid to help others—it often leads to unexpected opportunities. Also, reach out to people who are already in the role. Most of us are happy to share our experiences and help you learn more about what the job really involves.
What helps you recharge outside of work?
Travel has always been a big part of my life. It started with a study abroad program in Costa Rica, which really sparked my love for exploring new places and cultures. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to visit beautiful places like Spain, Italy, England and Scotland. I recently took my 9-month-old son on his first trip to San Miguel de Allende in my native Mexico.
Since becoming a new mom, I’ve had to really learn how important it is to carve out personal time for self-care and ask for help when I need it. Recharging isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity in a world full of distractions and endless to-do lists. Taking care of myself helps me show up better for my family, my team and myself.

Thank you for sharing your story, Diana. Your global mindset and team-oriented approach make a real impact.
