Veronika is a service design analyst based in Belgrade, Serbia. She’s a globally minded project manager who finds energy in tackling new challenges. We recently caught up with Veronika to learn more about her role.

“Take initiative—You can’t wait for opportunities to fall into your lap.”

What is your current role at NCR Atleos?

I am a service design analyst with the Digital Transformation team. My role involves streamlining workflows and enhancing the systems used by our engineers in the field to help make their work faster and easier so that they can focus on providing high-quality service to our customers.

Recently, most of my time has been spent on our Enterprise Services (ES)-to-Cloud project, which updates older systems used by our Field Operations team and unifies them on a cloud-based platform. This will help simplify and standardize the processes for creating work orders, managing parts, scheduling engineers and field service agents’ dispatching activities, among other benefits.

What is your favorite part of your job?

I get to dive into so many different processes that I never would have encountered otherwise, and that kind of steep learning curve is exciting for me. It’s tough, yes. But without challenges, it just wouldn’t be as interesting.

I love to travel and have worked in different countries like Botswana and South Africa, so I also enjoy the global collaboration. I get to work closely with people from places like Indonesia, the US, Egypt and India. Sitting here in Serbia, fully connected with colleagues all over the world, it’s one of the best parts of my job.

What’s the most challenging part of your job?

Right now, there are too many things to be done, and not enough time to do them. The pace is intense, and there are constant demands coming from all directions. The volume and urgency can be overwhelming at times when we’re working on a big project like ES-to-Cloud.

What career advice would you give to someone seeking a job in your field?

Take initiative—You can’t wait for opportunities to fall into your lap. Whether you’re fresh out of university or already have some experience, you have to put yourself out there and make sure that your manager is aware of your interests and personal goals. It’s what I did when the ES-to-Cloud project started, I knew it would be a huge and fascinating challenge.

Further, being proactive when tackling tasks, and always doing your absolute best makes a world of difference in the long run. Your consistency, energy and reputation inevitably help you accelerate in the direction that you want to take.

What do you like most about working for NCR Atleos?

Without a doubt, it’s the people. The work ethic, the kindness, the professionalism—The company really hires great people across the globe.

I also appreciate the innovation mindset that the company promotes. You can feel that digital transformation is a real priority. It’s exciting to be part of something that’s evolving so quickly and that really helps our engineers and dispatching agents do their jobs more effectively. When we make their jobs smoother and easier, that directly translates into faster, better service for our customers. I really appreciate that—it’s a value we live by, not just talk about.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I try to keep active with things like hiking, jogging and even clubbing—just whatever keeps me moving and feeling good. I also do some volunteering for local causes I believe in.

Thank you for sharing your story, Veronika. Your curiosity and initiative make a positive impact on those around you.
