DULUTH, Ga., September 9, 2013 – NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), the global leader in consumer transaction technologies, today announced that it has been ranked in the top 25 on this year’s InformationWeek 500 – a list of the top technology innovators in the U.S. This marks the third consecutive year that NCR has been recognized on the InformationWeek 500 and is the global tech company’s best ranking (#24) yet.

InformationWeek identifies and honors the nation's most innovative users of information technology with its annual InformationWeek 500 listing, and also tracks the technology, strategies, investments, and administrative practices of some of the best‐known organizations in the country.

“What makes an IT organization relevant is the ability to master the essentials of operations so that valuable resources can be applied to innovate around strategic business initiatives that create more value through return on invested capital and deliver a competitive advantage,” said NCR Chief Information Officer Bill VanCuren. “Earning a top 25 ranking on this year’s InformationWeek 500 list and being recognized for our breakthrough NCR Predictive Services initiative is a significant achievement. I believe it speaks to the high quality team at NCR as well as our strong culture of innovation and continuous improvement.”

Leading the business and driving innovation is not just a goal or objective for NCR’s IT Services organization – it’s a directive from company leadership and a key ingredient in delivering customer value. NCR Predictive Services is a highly successful, cross functional innovation that factored heavily into NCR’s InformationWeek 500 ranking. NCR Predictive Services uses software components to send device alerts, module configuration data and usage tallies to NCR’s expert predictive systems to anticipate problems before they happen and before customers are impacted.

"The theme of this year's InformationWeek 500 is digital business. It's a movement, rooted in data analytics, mobile computing, social networking and other customer‐focused technologies that are turning companies and industries on their ear," said InformationWeek Editor In Chief Rob Preston. "Every enterprise is now a digital business — or needs to become one fast. The companies in our ranking are leading the way."

Unique among corporate rankings, the InformationWeek 500 spotlights the power of innovation in information technology. The full list can be found at www.informationweek.com/500.
